TeleClinic, a German digital health platform, has selected local payments company Wirecard to digitise online payment process for private patients.

TeleClinic is a portal that allows patients to digitally consult and get treatment from doctors. The service is usually available to private and legally insured persons, with private patients initially having to bear medical bill payments all by themselves.

As part of the partnership, Wirecard will process all credit card payments as well as SEPA direct debits.

TeleClinic founder and medical director Reinhard Meier said: “We have chosen Wirecard to be our partner for online payment processing for private patients so that we can meet the requirements set by our patients’ digital lifestyles.”

Wirecard head of sales digital goods Boris Bongartz said: “As an international driver of the digitization of payment processes, we are delighted to be digitalising payment processing for medical consultations via latest communication methods together with TeleClinic in order to make the payment process as easy and comfortable as possible for private patients.”
