Smart Technology Solutions (STS), a UK-based payments acceptance software provider, has joined forces with local payment processor Worldpay to offer enhanced payment capabilities.
Under the agreement, Worldpay’s global acquiring platform will integrate G8, an STS’ offering that segregates payments processing logic from electronic point of sale.
At the same time, STS will also develop a transaction message decryption feature.
Commenting on the alliance, STS CEO Steve Turner said: “By integrating G8 to Worldpay, merchants will benefit from the combined strengths of two payment leaders and access to new payment options and features.
“Project timescales, costs and business risk will all be reduced as the development, system integration and testing will already have been completed.”
The partnership will target airline, rail, hospitality and transportation sectors, with an aim to serve on-board sales, offline PIN verification, message decryption and multi-merchant infrastructure requirements.
Worldpay Vice President of Vertical Growth for Airlines & Travel Thomas Helldorff added: “Partnering with STS will strengthen our proposition within the airline and travel sectors, initially offering a secure solution for on-board retailing. Working together we will be able to offer greater choice and flexibility for merchants.”
