Digital money transfer company WorldRemit has integrated with WhatsApp Business solution to offer customers real-time notifications on remittances.

The integration, will enable the customers to receive instant notifications on the status of their transactions. The solution is the first of its kind in the UK.

The WhatsApp remittance notifications service is expected to be beneficial in the regions where mobile messaging service is not pertinent.

Providing instant notifications to millions

It is expected to significantly reduce delivery failures with regard to remittances.

WorldRemit chief product officer Alice Newton-Rex said: “WorldRemit is delighted to add the WhatsApp Business solution to its platform to further improve its service by enabling our customers to receive instant updates on transactions.

“This integration will make our safe, fast and low-cost remittance service even more convenient for millions of WorldRemit customers around the world.”

WorldRemit supports fund transfers and remittances to more than 145 countries through mobile devices.

The integration will support around 1.2 million transactions every month from its website or app.

The introduction of the WhatsApp remittance notifications service is expected to support its plan to cater to 10 million customers connected to emerging markets by 2020.

Earlier this month, WorldRemit launched inter-Africa digital money transfer service to streamline online fund transfers across the African continent.
