Wirecard Brazilian subsidiary has launched a new mobile point-of-sale (mPOS) solution in an effort to further digitise payments.
It also aims to eliminate the need for physical cash.
The new omnichannel services will allow immediate, on-site acceptance of both card and mobile payments.
Wirecard mPOS will offer benefits to marketplace merchants in Brazil via instant transactions. Furthermore, increased scope for payments will enhance the customer experience.
Currently, the company provides a variety of payment solutions such as third-party transfers and bill payment services for small-sized clients in Brazil.
Launched in August this year, the latest financial features will improve financial management. Furthermore it will also decrease tariff costs without the need for intermediary transaction to the client’s bank account.
The new mPOS solution will act as a cost-effective option for businesses to expand the type of payment methods they accept. It will build on the potential for card payments in the country.
Wirecard executive vice-president of Sales Operations Sandra Meermann Hying said: “Not only is this solution wide-ranging, offering a mobile checkout to both small and large-scale merchants and establishments, but it is also a welcome innovation for both sides of the transaction process.
“Merchants and consumers can now be fully cash-free and mobile. We are delighted to further drive the digitisation of payments in Latin America.”
