Mobile payment and marketing platform CITCON has collaborated with IT firm ACCEO to enable acceptance of Chinese payment solutions WeChat Pay and Alipay at retailers across North America.
ACCEO Tender Retail will be power the service, which supports a direct-to-processor solution.
With the solution, retailers in North America can select and change their processor and payment hardware.
All this is said to be done without perpetual and gateway fees.
The tie-up is said to offer a “huge opportunity”, considering the two mobile payment platforms’ combined user base of 1.3 billion.
China is said to be the top mobile payment market globally.
