UK-based direct debit provider GoCardless has turned to Accuity to support payments collection for businesses that operate in the US.

Under the partnership, GoCardless will utilise the Banker’s Almanac Payments Data solution from Accuity to offer US businesses an automated clearing house solution.

Through the ABA routing number information, GoCardless intends to lower risk and increase payment accuracy, thereby strengthening its relationships with suppliers and vendors.

Accuity EVP of payments David White said: “By collaborating with GoCardless we can help support its business growth and ensure a seamless customer journey with the most accurate payments data that seamlessly integrates into its payments solution.”

Last month, GoCardless collaborated with TransferWise to launch a global network for recurring payments. The network will enable customers of GoCardless to receive recurring payments including subscriptions, invoices and instalments through bank debit.

GoCardless head of banking and scheme development Paul Foster said: “We recently announced the world’s first global network for recurring payments, enabling businesses to collect international payments in a variety of currencies with just one bank account.

“Many of our customers want to collect from the US, so it was necessary to have the most accurate ABA routing number information available – and in a way that can be easily integrated into our payments processes. Accuity data will provide us with exactly that.”

From 1911, Accuity has been serving as the Official Registrar of ABA routing numbers.
