ICA Banken, a Swedish bank, has tapped electronic payments provider ACI Worldwide to improve the service it offers to its merchants.

Under the partnership, the bank will leverage the vendor’s UP Merchant Payments solution.

The solution is said to serve as a flexible payments solution that can support the growth of the bank.

ACI executive vice president Debbie Guerra said:  “Leading global retailers and financial institutions rely on ACI’s proven payments solutions, which deliver scalability, reliability and security to not only compete, but also win in today’s ever-evolving environment.

“UP Merchant Payments is a feature-rich and adaptable solution providing retailers with the flexible platform they need for the future. Serving customers in-store is rapidly changing and payments is at the heart of this revolution as retailers look to serve customers better and more efficiently.”

ICA Banken owns Sweden’s retail firm ICA Merchants, which has a 36% market share in the country. ICA Merchants has around 1,300 stores.

Developments at ACI

Last month, ACI extended its partnership with ATM operator Cardtronics to offer its UP Retail Payments solution for merchants and financial service providers using the Cardtronics network.

Earlier this year, ACI partnered with British convenience food retailer Co-operative Group to support the launch of its Pay-in-Aisle App.

The payments firm also collaborated with Chile’s Transbank, which opted for ACI’s UP Retail Payments solution.
