German payments firm Wirecard has joined forces with delivery service management platform Everesto to help food service merchants to add delivery services to their offering.

The partnership is said to benefit the entire food service sector including caterers, restaurants, and food retailers, in Europe and worldwide.

Everesto manages thousands of transactions for restaurants, enabling order and payment acceptance even prior to delivery.

At the same time, customers can pick up their orders at the restaurant.

Commenting on the partnership, Everesto managing director Martin Böhm said: “This will enable us to guarantee smooth payment transactions for all food service merchants and restaurants using Everesto.

“I am convinced that our solution will be well received by merchants and consumers alike, not only during but also after COVID-19.”

In the partnership, Wirecard is responsible for the payment processing for transactions.

It will enable consumers to use their preferred digital payment method upon ordering using Everesto.

Retailers can use the Wirecard Checkout Portal for paperless onboarding in less than ten minutes.

Wirecard vice president of Sales Retail Alexander Hahn said: “The Everesto solution fits in very well with our COVID-19 support package. We are confident that we will be able to help many food service merchants to successfully guide their business model into the digital future.”
