SaaS platform Wix has teamed up with Skrill, part of payments platform Paysafe, to support online payment acceptance for business owners.
This will be facilitated through an integration of Skrill payment gateway with Wix, which empowers businesses to create a professional website and develop an online presence.
Through the multi-country partnership, businesses can start accepting payments in hours leveraging Skrill’s fully integrated payment solution.
The Skrill payment gateway enables payment acceptance in more than 40 currencies. This can be done through credit and debit cards, local payment methods and over 80 banks worldwide.
The alternative payment methods accepted through an integration to the Skrill gateway include the Skrill digital wallet as well as other Paysafe services such as Rapid Transfer and Paysafecash.
While Rapid Transfer is an online bank transfer solution, Paysafecash serves as an online cash solution.
Skrill CEO Lorenzo Pellegrino said: “The last year has been a pivotal one for many businesses or sole traders who may not have considered growing their online presence before, and the checkout has proved to be a vital consideration as part of this.
“By integrating Skrill and strengthening and diversifying their checkout, businesses looking to make the leap online or grow their ecommerce presence with Wix will have a competitive advantage.”
In March this year, the Skrill digital wallet expanded its cryptocurrency offering to the US in partnership with Coinbase.
The deal saw Coinbase provide a new cryptocurrency white label solution to Skrill, continuing the digital wallet’s US expansion.
The same month, English Premier League football club Leeds United selected Skrill as its official partner.
This made Skrill a live payments option on the club’s online merchandise store as well as ticketing portal.
