Leaf has launched its ‘Payment Apps’ marketplace for a point of sale (POS) platforms, allowing merchants to compare and choose different payment processing services.
According to Leaf, the new marketplace, integrated into the Leaf POS platform, gives visibility and branding opportunities for processors, and enables merchants to customise their payment processing service.
Aron Schwarzkopf, Leaf’s co-founder and chief executive, explained: "Now, we can guide our customers to Payment Apps, where they are empowered to make an educated decision based on the needs of their small business."
Users can examine the various fees and compare several payment processors to choose what is the best match for their business, while processors can highlight their key differentiators.
"Most POS systems, whether they’re traditional cash registers or new mobile payment solutions on a smartphone or tablet, give merchants very little – if any – choice of processor.
"This means they’re locked into fees or rate schedules that could change at any time," said Schwarzkopf.
