Wirecard, a German financial services and technology firm, has collaborated with topbonus, the frequent flyer programme of airberlin, to issue MasterCard branded credit card in Austria.
The offering, known as airberlin & NIKI MasterCard, will enable the users to collect one award and status mile for each Euro spent on the credit card.
Furthermore, customers can easily redeem these miles for flights with airberlin and NIKI or for extra rewards, starting with at least 7,500 award miles.
Wirecard Bank is acting as the issuer of the airberlin & NIKI MasterCard, which offers insurance, travel accident, baggage delay, delayed departure, hospital benefits, medical expenses and travel cancellation services.
Using a dedicated web-interface integrated by Wirecard and optimized for PC, tablets and smartphones, topbonus participants can track their expenses.
topbonus managing director Anton Lill said: “Together with the Wirecard Bank AG, we offer our Austrian customers a credit card, with which they can earn miles with each payment.
