Malta’s Banif Bank has scored a four-year deal with Manchester United football club to produce co-branded credit cards.
Manchester United, a UK football club with worldwide popularity, has a 54 year old supporters’ club in the country. The deal with Banif Bank is only the last in a series of credit card deals with various banks across the world.
Manchester United’s group managing director Richard Arnold said: "Malta has a long and proud association with the Club, with its Supporters’ Club there being founded over 50 years ago, in 1959.
"This partnership with Banif Bank gives Manchester United fans in Malta another way to engage with the Club they love. Banif Bank has grown rapidly since it was established in 2008 and has an expert understanding of its local market.
"We are excited that its customers will be able to take advantage of the great Club incentives and competitions that this partnership brings."
Kicking off in 2008 and employing just 160 people in 10 branches on the island of Malta, the deal with the internationally famed club is quite the coup for Banif Bank.
