Datacard, a provider of secure ID and card issuance solutions, has been assisting in with the issuance of prepaid cards to flood victims in Canada.

The Alberta Government set up a flood assistance program that included issuing prepaid cards to affected Albertans.
Those who qualified were able to receive C$1,250 (US$1,200) per adult and C$500 (US$480) per child.

The company sent a member of its financial instant issuance team to Calgary to help with service and support of issuing the cards along with secure software and instant issuance systems that facilitated card printing, personalisation and issuance.

Mike Vaselenak, financial instant issuance manager, Canada, for Datacard Group, said: "Our thoughts go out to all those that were affected by the massive flooding in southern Alberta. It’s very important that the citizens got the help they needed right away, and as a native Calgarian, I am very proud that Datacard Group could respond so quickly and assist Alberta to provide the resources needed to help their citizens."
