Coutts, the private banking division of Royal Bank of Scotland, has launched a new range of cards – Silk Charge Card and Black Credit Card – to succeed its existing World Charge Card and Gold Credit/Charge Card.
According to the bank, the Silk Charge Card and Black Credit Card offer enhanced international and travel benefits to customers.

Coutts head of banking, credit & treasury products, Simon Ridgers said: "It’s been a while since we last significantly updated our cards and the global rebrand of Coutts in 2011 provided us with the perfect opportunity to review our card suite.

"Following extensive client research and feedback, we decided to change our proposition. These cards have specifically been designed around the needs of clients and to ensure we continue to offer a market leading and compelling offering."

The Silk card will let clients add up to six additional cards on their account and set tailored spending limits for each card, up to a maximum of £30,000 ($45,600) per month for each card. They will also gain VIP recognition and access to events and offers. A new loyalty programme, Thank You from Coutts, will offer cardholders rewards for using the card.

The Black Credit card will give cardholders Priority Pass airport lounge membership with six free visits per cardholder, as well as car hire insurance and online fraud protection. Both cards will retain many of the benefits of their predecessors.
