Barclaycard’s points-based credit cards
bearing the American National Football League (NFL) shield and
individual club logos will be available to sports fans from
September this year after an exclusive multi-year deal was struck
between the two parties.
Consumers can obtain the customised credit
cards via the web, at stadium displays, through in-bound telephone
applications and via email and direct mail invitations.
“We’re thrilled to have been selected by the
National Football League to bring convenient and rewarding payment
products to the sport’s many loyal fans and we’re looking forward
to getting started,” said Scott Young, general
manager-partnerships, Barclaycard US.
Users can redeem points earned on every dollar
spent for NFL related experiences such as: game tickets, NFL
licensed merchandise and more. Specific product features and
benefits are due to be announced before the launch of the new
program.
“We are looking forward to working with
Barclaycard to bring its customised approach to co-branded credit
cards to our fans,” said Keith Turner, the NFL’s senior vice
president of media sales & sponsorship.
