Pakistan-based Askari Bank and UnionPay International have reached an agreement to issue UnionPay QuickPass (NFC) and EMV chip enabled debit cards in Pakistan.
With the latest collaboration, the bank’s customers can make contactless payments that will keep the users’ data safe and secure.
Furthermore, the partnership will allow Askari Bank’s clients to transact at 41 million merchants and more than two million ATMs across the globe together with 10 million online merchant portals.
Commenting on the agreement, Askari Bank group head of operations Farrukh Iqbal Khan said: “Askari Bank has always been at the forefront in re-shaping and re-defining financial services landscape and signing agreement with UnionPay International for QuickPass (NFC) and EMV chip card issuance is yet another step.”
Askari Bank country head of branchless banking and ADC Asim Bashir said: “We are excited to work with UnionPay in Pakistan. Askari Bank continues to focus on improving customer experience and providing greater convenience by continuing to introduce new and innovative products.”
