PayAnywhere, a US-based provider of mobile point-of-sale solutions, has launched its new Bluetooth EMV credit card readers, which do not charge any monthly fees.
The new device, PayAnywhere 2-in-1 Bluetooth Credit Card Reader, is available for free to all new PayAnywhere merchants.
PayAnywhere said that the implementation of fraud liability from 1 October 2015 has affected many merchants. Big merchants have started accepting chip-protected credit cards. On the contrary, small businesses were hesitant to adopt the security improvement due to the high cost of upgrade.
Now, PayAnywhere is giving its fully functional, Bluetooth EMV reader for free with pay-as-you-go pricing, which will enable small merchants to reduce charge-backs and fraud risk.
Using PayAnywhere card reader, any Apple or Android device can be adapted into a mobile POS system. Available on both app stores, PayAnywhere card reader accepts Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover for one rate with no setup or monthly fees.
The company is also offering a 3-in-1 Credit Card Reader that accepts magnetic stripe, EMV chip cards and NFC contactless payments; and PayAnywhere Storefront, a free tablet with built-in card reader.
Marc Gardner, president and CEO of North American Bancard, the parent company of PayAnywhere said: “We know the importance of making sure our merchants have a fast, reliable and secure payments solution.
“Because our everyday focus is putting our merchants first, we wanted to give merchants a card reader that offers the ability for secure, EMV transactions – protecting them from costly chargebacks and fraudulent purchases.”
