Mastercard has collaborated with Bahrain-based CrediMax to introduce its Masterpass service in the country through integration with MaxWallet, a digital wallet by CrediMax.
Masterpass is a digital payment service designed for quick, simple and secure digital payments across various devices and channels, including in-store, online and in-app.
According to Mastercard, the integration of its service boosts the existing functionality of the digital wallet that currently facilitates in-store payment using Masterpass QR technology.
Customers will now be able to use the MaxWallet by CrediMax to also make online and in-app payment at all the locations that accept Masterpass.
Mastercard Northern Gulf area business head Pankaj Kathuria said: “The launch of Masterpass in Bahrain is a key milestone for the Kingdom’s payments ecosystem – one that will open doors for simpler and more efficient payment experiences that enable consumers to enjoy greater convenience and security.
“We will continue to collaborate with leading industry players like CrediMax to design and introduce products and solutions that leverage our cutting-edge technology and drive adoption of cashless systems.”
