Norway-based Monobank has announced plans to introduce two new credit cards over the coming months following the completion of their testing phases.
The bank said it is in the final stages of testing its credit card with its partners Evry and Visa.
The lender said that it intends to release Monobank Visa card in May this year.
The second card is being developed under a joint project with Widerøe, a local airline operating company, and EuroBonus, a loyalty and frequent flyer programme by SAS. The second card in expected to be launched in September 2018.
“Most costs associated with the credit card project have already been charged, and very limited extra costs will therefore be added in connection with the launch of a separate card,” the bank said in a press statement.
Monobank CEO Bent Gjendem said: “With the credit card development costs already charged this was a good opportunity to launch the product under our own brand. In addition, this first launch will provide us with valuable experience.
