UnionPay has approved French payment consultancy FIME’s personalisation validation tool (PVT) called PersevalPro Issuer to provide PVT testing for its cards in both domestic and international markets.
The move is expected to enable issuers, card manufacturers and personalisation bureaus accelerate the validation of various chip products such as EMV chip cards, near field communication (NFC) devices and additional contactless-enabled solutions, including wearables.
This in turn, is anticipated to expedite time-to-market for EMV chip cards.
FIME country manager for China Leo Jiang said: “EMV migration is gathering serious momentum worldwide, driven by the rising demand for smart cards and other contactless solutions, such as NFC mobile and wearable devices.
“This latest accreditation reflects our continued efforts to support the region and overseas to simplify EMV product testing and reduce time to market.
“With the rapid global growth of UPI in recent years, it was crucial to add this library to our testing portfolio to ensure we continue to deliver comprehensive testing and certification support to our customers.”
