Payments firm Ingenico Group has received market deployment authorisations from domestic card schemes GIE CB and Bancontact for its nexo-based payment gateway.
The authorisations will enable retail merchants to accept co-branded cards using the CB and Bancontact brands in France and Belgium, respectively, instead of Visa and Mastercard.
Ingenico payment gateway reduces costs
Ingenico said that this reduces acquiring costs and offers benefits for merchants, who will be able to deploy a uniform acceptance solution in all the countries where they operate.
In addition, the new payment gateway solution will expedite time-to-market and minimise the costs incurred by merchants for implementation, running and maintenance.
Ingenico Group senior vice-president of Product, Enterprise Retail Stéphane Jacquis said: “Ingenico Group is the only provider to have received a nexo certification for its payment gateway to date, and has already deployed it in more than five European countries.
“We are working with several merchants and other domestic schemes to further extend the geographical and functional scope of our solution in the coming months.”
