PayPal has rolled out worldwide updates to its Android and iOS apps to add features like checking into restaurants and ordering ahead.
The app, which is used by linking credit cards and bank accounts to a PayPal account can be used in stores, to make payments to individuals, to pay bills and now to check in and order at partnered restaurants.
Hill Ferguson, vice president of global product at PayPal, said: "With the new design of the app, we’ve made it easier than ever for our customers to pay when they’re in-store and send money to friends.
"Of course, because we’re PayPal, paying with your phone doesn’t mean you have to give up choice."
New features also include an application that allows a customer to add a card to their PayPal account just by scanning the back of the card.
Customers can also now use the Local function to find nearby stores that accept PayPal, check into stores and pay.
