The newly refreshed Blue Cash Preferred Card will now feature new benefits for members to enjoy more quality time at home.
The new benefits come after a survey commissioned by American Express found that older millennials are busier than ever. Furthermore they value spending quality time rather than money (54%).
In addition, 75% of older millennials prefer to stay in more than they did five years years ago. While staying in, the most popular activities include watching TV (68%), movie nights (50%), cookouts (43%) and dinner parties (36%).
Applying on or after May 9 2019, new card members can earn a bonus of $250 back in the form of a statement credit. This is after spending $1,000 in purchases on the card in the first three months.
Furthermore, older millennial’s daily routine has shifted through the years. According to the survey, 91% noted they are spending more on their day-to-day compared to five years ago. This includes 67% more on groceries and 36% more on streaming. Travelling into work is also another priority with 34% spending more on commuting.

- 6% Cash Back at US supermarkets. This is up to $6,000 in purchases then 1%.
- 6% Cash Back on select US streaming subscriptions.
- 3% Cash Back at US petrol stations.
