American cryptocurrency exchange platform Bittrex Global has decided to allow users to fund their exchange accounts with Mastercard.

After this decision, the company’s users from 36 countries across Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America, and the Middle East will be able to use Mastercard as a payment option.

Bittrex Global will charge a processing fee of 3%.

The daily and weekly funding limits can differ between $2,500-$10,000 in US dollars or in Euros and the monthly limit will vary between $7,500-50,000 depending on the country from which deposits are made.

The funding option from Mastercard adds to a diverse list of previously accepted payment methods like Visa, debit cards, and USD wire transfers.

The move to accept Mastercard as the preferred funding source is line with Bittrex Global’s strategy to increase adoption and accessibility to distributed ledger technology.

Users need to make a credit card deposit to their holdings, select the preferred amount and enter their Mastercard card details in order to fund their accounts.

Users may also need to go through an additional authentication via the 3DSecure security protocol for a few payment transactions, depending on the bank.

Once the transaction is processed and approved, the funds will be transferred to the user’s wallet.
