American Express and Resy have joined forces with 15 restaurants across 13 US cities to reinvent the dining experience for cardmembers with at-home and outdoor dining benefits.

The move is part of the businesses’ broader plan to support the restaurant community as they grapple with the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.

American Express card members can now gain exclusive access to unique outdoor dining experiences.

At the same time, the firm is engaging with top chefs including Dan Barber and Missy Robbins.

Among the new benefits include the availability of the Amex Winter Patios at two of Major Food Group’s New York City restaurants – Carbone and Sadelle’s.

Card members can have exclusive access to the patios and book them through Resy from 20 November.

At year end, American Express and Resy are also launching a new covered, heated outdoor experience called The Yurt Villages for card members.

This will pop up at 13 restaurants from early December and roll out through February next year.

Platinum Card and Centurion Members will gain 48-hour early access to reservations along with access to special on-site perks.

Besides, card members can gain access to virtual dining experiences and exclusive culinary collections with top chefs and restaurants.

American Express senior vice president, Global Loyalty and Benefits, Chris Cracchiolo said: “These past several months have reinforced just how important restaurants and dining out are to our Card Members, communities and our own daily lives.

“As the winter months approach, we will again find ourselves looking for new ways to safely and comfortably enjoy some of our favourite restaurants, which is why we are introducing new at-home and outdoor dining experiences exclusively for our Card Members this winter.”
