Nordea has struck an agreement with Denmark-based payment solutions provider Nets to prolong their long-term alliance in Finland as well as Denmark.

The partnership will see Nets continue to offer various services for the bank’s card products, including Dankort in Denmark.

These services include card issuing, processing, fraud prevention and detection, dispute handling, digital solutions, along with managed services.

Nets Group CEO of Issuer & eSecurity Services Torsten Hagen Jørgensen said: “We are pleased that the largest bank in the Nordics has decided to continue and further develop our mutual ambitions in providing engaging payment experiences across the full customer journey.

“Using Nets’ innovative and best-in-class processing services, we look forward to serving Nordea’s Nordic business for many years to come.”

Developments at Nets

Last month, German lender Degussa Bank reached a collaboration with Nets for a comprehensive suite of digital card services.

The two entities will work together to create a consumer credit card offering in Germany. Additionally, Nets will help Degussa Bank with Apple Pay and Google Pay integrations and virtual cards using its processing services.

In April this year, Nets and gift card provider Gifted partnered to offer a digital instant prepaid gift card.

In particular, the two parties will offer merchants an innovative digital solution across the Nordics.

Earlier this year, Mastercard completed the acquisition of the majority of the Corporate Services business of Nets.
