Conotoxia has rolled out its multi-currency cards for residents in nearly all European Union (EU) countries and Norway.

This excludes Ireland, Croatia, Denmark, Bulgaria, Romania and Hungary.

Till now, the cards were available only in Poland. Conotoxia launched the multi-currency payment card in Poland, in association with Visa, last year.

The expansion is said to have been triggered by Polish residents’ high interest in the cards.

The cards are available in virtual and physical versions, with holders gaining access to free accounts in EUR and 19 more currencies.

They can make payments in more than 160 currencies.

Android and iOS users can manage the cards through a dedicated mobile app.

The option of contactless payments with a smartphone, watch, and tracker is also available.

The cards can be used for everyday payments for in store as well online payments. Users can also withdraw money from ATMs across the globe using the cards.

An application for card issuance is submitted online. Users can order the physical cards with a delivery option via courier as well as postal services.

Piotr Kicinski, vice-president of Cinkciarz.pl, a company belonging to Conotoxia Holding, called the expansion a ‘crucial step’ in the firm’s global growth.

“For us, providing this new feature at the beginning of the holiday season was of special importance because when travelling abroad, a multi-currency card is just very handy,” Kicinski stated.

Plans are also on to launch the cards in other EU countries, and the UK.

Notably, in 2018, Conotoxia launched a payments service, dubbed ConotoxiaPay, for individual customers and business partners.

This marked the firm’s entry into the payments space. It previously offered only currency exchange as well as and money transfer services.
