Dutch software solution provider Bell ID has acquired Scottish software company Ecebs from its parent company Trainline Investment Holdings, for an undisclosed amount.
Bell ID hopes that the purchase of Ecebs will allow them to exploit the growing market for smart ticketing and payment using mobile devices. They are also aiming to enhance the company’s capabilities into other sectors using its partners and trusted service manager (TSM) relationships.
Based in Rotterdam, Bell ID makes produces management software products that manage the multiple internal processes within smart cards, contactless, mobile and other applications. The company believes that the addition of Ecebs complement its own payment software range.
Ecebs is part of East Kilbride’s ‘Silicon Glen’ and currently provide software for cards, terminals and bank office systems. Its products are used throughout the UK by government, transport operators, banks and privately held companies.
