The new trial comes after the bank also tested NFC mobile payment technology last year, when some of its customers using Blackberry devices were invited to try an m-wallet payment system.
The Paydiant app will be trialled only by some BoA employees at five merchants in Charlotte, North Carolina in the US for three months.
Paydiant is also running similar tests with other five unnamed US banks, Reuters reports.
Co-founder Chris Gardner said that the strength of Paydiant is providing services that do not require merchants to upgrade their point-of-sale hardware or banks to share customers transactions data.
Paydiant gives retailers and banks control over this critical customer touch point and all the incremental revenue and customer loyalty opportunities that come with it," he said.
