The Bank of Internet USA has announced it has
expanded its offerings with the launch of CashEdge’s Popmoney email
and mobile payment service in an attempt to increase their
person-to-person (P2P) services.
Popmoney is a P2P payment service which allows
customers to transfer money through their bank’s online service
without having to know the bank account details of the recipient,
just their mobile phone number or email address. The recipient will
then receive an email or text confirming the transfer and enabling
them to direct the funds to their bank account.
“We are focused on finding the best ways to
help our customers use their money, and this person-to-person
payment service provides a convenient way to do so. People can
receive their money straight into their online bank account, saving
them a trip to the bank,” said Greg Garrabrants, president and CEO
of Bank of Internet USA.
CashEdge has recently been acquired by Fiserv,
a global provider of information management and electronic commerce
system.
