American Express has signed an agreement with
mobile network Sprint to enable Sprint customers easy access
to its digital payments platform Serve.
The agreement marks the first relationship
between Serve and a mobile carrier since its launch in late
March.
“We believe that customers will benefit
greatly from taking advantage of Serve’s functionality as a quick,
user-friendly way for tackling the often tedious task of paying
bills and making mobile payment,” said David Messenger, executive
vice president for enterprise growth at American Express.
Serve is a digital payments platform
that unifies online, offline and mobile payments into a single
account to allow the user to transfer money, pay their Sprint
mobile phone bill and make purchases at participating American
Express merchants.
Serve will be made available to Sprint
customers this summer in the ‘Sprint Zone’ to those using
Android-powered smartphones.
