Payment services provider Western Union has
rolled out its money transfer service across more than 4,880 Banco
Bradesco banking centres in Brazil.

The new platform allows Brazilian consumers to
receive money transfers from abroad, with the ability to send money
in the near future.

Bradesco is said to be the first private bank
to offer Western Union’s money transfer service in Brazil – which
is currently present in all 5,564 Brazilian municipalities

“We are excited to offer our accountholders
and walk-in consumers the ability to receive money transfers
throughout Banco Bradesco banking centers,” said Marlene Millan,
director of Bradesco’s foreign exchange department.

“Our relationship with Western Union enables
Bradesco to expand beyond existing product and service offerings to
better meet the diverse needs of consumers and the communities we
serve in Brazil.”

The money-transfer service agreement with
Banco Bradesco is claimed to be an important step in Western
Union’s ‘go-to-market’ strategy in Brazil and aims to serve to
strengthen both its relationship and value proposition with
consumers.
