Paytech company Worldline has forged an alliance with FreedomPay, aimed at transforming the payment network in the travel & hospitality sector across Europe.

This collaboration is said to deliver acquiring and payment gateway capabilities, with future expansion into retail and other industries.

The partnership is expected to enhance payment operations for hotel chains with a global presence.

It offers an omni-channel solution that integrates FreedomPay’s Host2Host connection with Worldline’s acquiring and Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) services.

This solution will support both card present and cardless present transaction flows, ensuring a payment experience.

Slated for launch in mid-2025, the service will enable hotel groups to strengthen customer relationships and services.

The omni-channel approach is designed to ensure smooth interactions, guest satisfaction, and loyalty, stated Worldline.

Additionally, access to detailed data will assist hotels in making informed decisions, optimising pricing strategies, and refining marketing efforts.

Worldline hospitality & travel head Biljana Bosnjak said:“In conjunction with the award-winning commerce platform from our partner FreedomPay, Worldline is in a stronger position than ever before to target major hotel chains with a global presence. This opens further exciting opportunities for growth in the hospitality sector in Europe where Worldline has a very strong position already.”

FreedomPay global business development SVP Kevin Carson added: “This partnership marks a key step in transforming payment solutions for the Travel & Hospitality sector, and going forward can be extended to other industries such as Retail. By combining FreedomPay’s gateway technology with Worldline’s acquiring expertise, we’re enabling businesses to optimise payments and enhance the customer experience across Europe.”

Earlier this month, Worldline partnered with Norway-based DNB Bank.

DNB will leverage Worldline’s Swift Instant Connectivity to TIPS (TARGET Instant Payment Settlement) to enhance its payment infrastructure and to provide real-time payment services to its clients.

Meanwhile, last month, FreedomPay partnered with Verifone, integrating its payment solutions with Verifone’s devices, allowing businesses using FreedomPay’s global payment platform to improve operational efficiency through Verifone’s technology.
