Cross border payments company Thunes has expanded its Direct Global Network into Taiwan.

This move enables members of Thunes’ network to provide their customers with “real-time payout services” in Taiwan, supporting transactions in both New Taiwan Dollars (TWD) and United States Dollars (USD).

The company stated that Taiwan’s growing money influx market is expected to drive by demand for efficient cross-border payments and global trade.

This solution works with all major banks in Taiwan, facilitating real-time payments to both personal and business accounts.

Thunes CEO Floris de Kort said: “Expanding Thunes’ proprietary Direct Global Network with our new payments corridor into Taiwan provides our members with greater speed, control, visibility, protection, and cost efficiencies for real-time cross-border payments in one of Asia’s most vibrant financial markets.

“This expansion underscores our commitment to global reach and industry-leading Quality of Service through direct connections, enabling our members to seamlessly process payments worldwide, with the highest transaction success rates.”

Last month, Thunes integrated PayPal’s international payouts service, Hyperwallet, into its network.

This integration allows Hyperwallet customers to transfer funds in real-time to over 450 million mobile wallets and bank accounts across six Asian countries.

Thunes’ proprietary Direct Global Network facilitates real-time payments in over 130 countries and more than 80 currencies by leveraging its in-house SmartX Treasury System and Fortress Compliance Platform.

It is headquartered in Singapore and has offices across 13 locations worldwide.
