CaixaBank has become the first financial institution in Spain to fully develop a mobile point of sale (mPOS) solution.
The bank teamed up with Comercia Global Payments, an electronic transaction service, to create the mPOS system.
Designed for small business owners, it lets merchants collect payments with smartphones and streamline transactions from multiple locations.
CaixaBank said the app would suit professionals on the move, including those doing work in a customer’s home, repair services, home delivery services, and taxi drivers.
The bank said its system was designed for ease of use with minimal technology requirements.
In order to use the solution, customers must download an app to their smartphone and insert their card and into a reader provided by Comercia.
