The value marked a decrease of 77.3% over the previous month of $10.28bn and a drop of 38.7% when compared with the last 12-month average of $3.8bn.
In terms of number of deals, the sector saw a rise of 2.33% with 44 deals in January 2021 when compared to the last 12-month average of 43 deals.
In value terms, Europe led the activity with deals worth $1.06bn in January 2021.
