Alfa-Bank and provider of Open System e-payment solutions BPC Banking Technologies are launching a contactless payment service for Russian telecom operator Beeline.
Using MasterCard PayPass Mobile, customers will be able to pay for purchases using their mobile phones. Only transactions over RUR1,000 ($35) will require a PIN entry or signature.

The service will be powered by SmartVista and is available on various handsets.
Vladimir Urbansky, Head of the E-Business department at Alfa-Bank, said: "Alfa-Bank strives to deliver innovative products and services to our customers. With this new product, working together with our partners BPC Banking Technologies, MasterCard and Beeline, we have enabled our customers to make payments quickly, easily and securely using the contactless solution based on MasterCard PayPass."

The solution is currently being pilot-tested for Alfa-Bank customers.
