Global payment platform Braintree is rolling out mobile wallet Venmo Touch across the UK before launching it across Europe in the next few months.

Braintree says the app allows customers to save payment details and check out across its network of apps "in one touch". Braintree’s UK retailers include LivingSocial, HotelTonight, Drivr and YPlan.

Braintree CEO Bill Ready said: "Venmo Touch makes it easier than ever for consumers to make purchases on a mobile device, and solves one of the biggest barriers companies face selling goods and services on mobile — a simple, one touch checkout experience.

"Bringing Venmo Touch to our European merchants allows them to focus on creating great products and services while offering people the easiest way to pay."

American Express, Braintree’s exclusive marketing partner, will also be able to use the mobile wallet platform.

Melinda Davidowski, vice president of online commerce at American Express, said: "As mobile commerce becomes increasingly prevalent, Venmo Touch offers our UK card members a simple and convenient way to make repeat purchases on their mobile devices."
