NFC technology enables contactless exchange of data between mobile phones, payment terminals, smart-cards as well as control systems and other devices.
Testing of the new service has commenced in June this year, with commercial operation scheduled to begin on 15 January 2014.

This NFC payments service will be accessible to all its subscribers with mobile handsets with an NFC module, and clients of Alfa-Bank. Special NFC-support SIM cards are distributed at the bank’s departments.
Kyivstar claims it is set to be the first entity providing such a service in the country.
