MoneyGram has partnered with digital security
company Gemalto to enable its customers transfer money through
their mobile phones.
MoneyGram’s platform will be integrated with
Gemalto’s LinqUs mobile payment platform. Customers will thus be
able to send international transfers from a mobile phone to one of
MoneyGram’s 284,000 locations worldwide or receive transfers to
their mobile wallet. Gemalto Mobile Financial Services clients,
including banks and mobile operators, will be able to connect
directly to MoneyGram’s global network.
MoneyGram head of global strategic
partnerships Tim Summers said it is focussing on developing ne
mobile and online channels to meet users evolving needs.
“Gemalto has relationships with more than 450
mobile operators and 3,000financial institutions worldwide. Their
extensive experience with global mobile financial services brings a
secure environment that extends MoneyGram’s money transfer services
to consumers and gives them more options,” he said.
