Prepaid e-money provider Ukash has appointed
David Hunter as its new CEO.

Hunter, former head of eMoney at ClickandBuy
and Paysafecard, has said his priorities will be expansion in Latin
America and developing partnerships with e-wallet providers,
particularly in developing markets.

The company has expanded significantly in a
short period of time and developed a strong network of retailers
capable of converting cash to e-money. Hunter said that Ukash now
plans to start “working more like the four-party schemes work”, by
forming ties with local partners and working with e-wallets and
prepaid programme managers.

“It does mean working with companies competing
in the same market,” he said. “But our aim is to make our offering
as flexible as we can, and by entering into strategic partnerships
we can create greater value and utility for our customers, whether
they are buying games credits, funding a mobile wallet, sending
money home, or loading a prepaid card.

“This model of expansion through local partners is something
that Visa and MasterCard has done very effectively over the
years.”
