WorldPay has announced a partnership with
BOKU to enhance synergies and improve the m-payment side of its
network.
BOKU’s mobile payment platform will be
integrated into WorldPay’s support system.
The partnership with the San
Francisco-based online payments firm will enable WorldPay’s
merchants to offer their customers a convenient and fast m-payment
tool, said WorldPay.
The partnership follows a research by
WorldPay in which it found that around 39% of mobile shoppers were
frustrated by the average length of m-transactions.
BOKU’s technology allows users to pay by
entering the phone number, confirm the transaction via SMS and
charge it to their mobile operator bill.
The whole process takes around 3-5 seconds
and there is no need to provide extra information to the retailer,
according to WorldPay.
