Seamless and EMAB team up for mobile payments at Swedish service stations

Global payments company Seamless is to launch mobile payments at motorway service stations across Sweden.

Around 430 members of the service station network EMAB will offer motorists the ability to pay with mobile wallet SEQR from April 2014.

"We view the smartphone as the future payment method and with SEQR we can offer an impressive solution that contributes to lower transaction costs for our members".

According to Seamless, SEQR allows merchants to bypass credit card companies and cut transactions costs in half.

Peter Fredell, CEO of Seamless commented: "In just a year, SEQR has become the most used mobile payment solution in stores and online in both Sweden and Europe.

"That another country-wide network of stores such as EMAB now chooses to offer SEQR is further evidence of our offering of an attractive method of payment".

Once customers download the SEQR app, available on both iPhone and Android, payments are completed through scanning a QR-code displayed at checkout and confirming the payment by entering the customer’s personal PIN.
