Prepaid e-voucher provider Ukash has partnered with UK utility bill payments services provider PayPoint to deliver a new facility that allows cardless cash withdrawals.

Consumers will be able to turn gaming winnings or spare Ukash back into sterling at more than 24,000 PayPoints across the UK.

Ukash chief executive David Hunter explained: "It could be someone who has been gambling or gaming online and wants to turn their winnings into cash or a consumer who has returned goods they purchased online with Ukash. The refund will be paid to them in Ukash which they can convert back into cash.

"Other potential uses include emergency cash and customer loyalty rewards such as promotional rewards or cashback," he added.

Previously, Ukash transactions or gaming winnings could only be returned to the user in the form of a new unique code to make future purchases online.

The new cash withdrawal service will go live later this month.
