As of 2017 there were 562,521 students in tertiary education in Kenya, with 3.8 million students in secondary and 8.3 million in primary education. Kenya spent 5.3% of its GDP on education in 2019.

Kenya ranked 56th in the World Bank’s Doing Business Report (2020). In the 2019 report it finished 61st. In the World Economic Forum’s Global Competitiveness Report (2019), Kenya finished 95th, after ranking 95th in 2018.
