As of 2018 there were 256,172 students in tertiary education in Serbia, with 534,106 students in secondary and 266,759 in primary education. Serbia spent 3.2% of its GDP on education in 2019.

Serbia ranked 44th in the World Bank’s Doing Business Report (2020). In the 2019 report it finished 48th. In the World Economic Forum’s Global Competitiveness Report (2019), Serbia finished 72nd, after ranking 72nd in 2018.

Public healthcare expenditure totalled $2.6bn and private healthcare expenditure equalled $1.9bn in 2018.
