Singapore is the 38th largest economy in the world with a GDP of $319.2 billion. Singapore’s GDP has grown by 34% between 2010 and 2021 and is expected to grow by 18% by 2025.

As of 2021 there are 270,700 students in tertiary education in Singapore, with 168,200 students in secondary and 234,300 in primary education. Singapore spent 2.6% of its GDP on education in 2019.

Singapore ranked second in the World Bank’s Doing Business Report (2020). In the 2019 report it finished second. In the World Economic Forum’s Global Competitiveness Report (2019), Singapore finished first, after ranking second in 2018.

Public healthcare expenditure totalled $10 billion and private healthcare expenditure equalled $7.5 billion in 2018.
