Payments technology provider ACI Worldwide has teamed up with Mindgate Solutions to introduce new digital overlay services, aimed at real-time payments modernisation.
ACI will offer digital overlay services via its UP Real-Time Payments solution.

The digital overlay services will support a “high-volume, data-rich digital payments ecosystem” through white-label mobile apps and web portals, plug-ins, APIs and software development kits (SDKs) for digital and social media channels.
ACI said that the benefits for organisations are end-to-end solution for contactless and QR code payments, and integrated end-to-end bill payment solution for financial institutions with self-service portals.
Other benefits include simplified integration for mobile apps such as Request to Pay (RtP) services as well as P2P payments services for added security, the vendor said.
ACI head of real-time payments Craig Ramsey said: “The COVID-19 pandemic and resulting economic impacts will likely lead to long-term behavioural changes, and businesses need to adapt their strategies accordingly.
“We recently surveyed global payments experts, 36 percent of whom had seen an increase in digital transaction volumes over the last few months, and almost half (47%) had seen a shift of transactions across digital channels. This reinforces the rising interest in real-time payments and digital overlay services across the globe — a trend we expect to continue.”
In May 2020, ACI enhanced its UP Immediate Payments solution with new features in response to the increased demand for real-time and digital payments amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
The solution now offers extended API capabilities to support integration into various digital channels.
Earlier this year, the firm also added new features to its ACI Speedpay solution to address bill payment challenges due to the pandemic.
