Payment solutions provider ACI Worldwide has purchased the technology assets of RevChip and TranSend to strengthen its UP Merchant Payments solution.

RevChip is a software provider for Apple Pay, while TranSend offers email migration tools.

The takeover is said to add new cloud-based, omni-channel in-store capabilities to ACI’s UP Merchant Payments offering.

According to ACI, the new capability will enable its UP Merchant Payments solution to ease the integration process between point-of-sale applications, payments software and payment terminals.

This in turn, is said to facilitate a secure and frictionless payment process and lower IT footprint.

ACI executive vice president Sanjay Gupta said: “The move to the cloud provides merchants with challenges as well as opportunities. In order to reap those opportunities, merchants require a technology platform that delivers agnostic control, scalability and security as well as integrated payments and fraud capabilities.

“The powerful technology assets we are announcing today allow ACI to deliver merchants an unmatched next-generation in-store digital payment experience.

“We are excited to welcome the RevChip and TranSend teams, who we already enjoy a successful partnership with, into the ACI family to drive further success.”

Financial terms of the deal were not revealed. However, ACI said that the transaction will not be “financially material” in 2019.
