ACI Worldwide has joined forces with retail payments platform Wundr to power cross-border payments with instant settlement for mid-tier retailers.

Wundr, which fuses B2C digital payments and B2B business banking, will leverage ACI’s UP eCommerce Payments solution to power its payments.

ACI claims that its eCommerce technology will connect Wundr to hundreds of card acquirers and alternative payment methods.

It will also integrate digital payments with multi-layered fraud management capabilities.

Using the new capabilities, Wundr will be able to build a range of new products and services, including instant settlement.

Wundr founder and CEO James Baillie said: “ACI’s secure eCommerce capabilities deliver the flexibility to adapt to the needs of our retail customers and help them reach new markets quickly.

“Shopper expectations and demands will continue to evolve, so it’s imperative that we partner with innovative technology providers like ACI that are constantly upgrading and investing in new capabilities. Additionally, ACI’s acquirer agnostic strategy is a perfect fit for our customers, who are seeking a borderless solution that enables them to work with local acquirers best suited to their growth strategy.”

ACI said that its platform is built using a platform-based, open payments architecture that is available through a single point of integration with a RESTful API.

ACI Worldwide director of eCommerce Richard Jolly said: “Wundr is well positioned to deliver borderless business banking and seamless cross-border eCommerce through its combination of an extensive network and innovative API technology.

“As well as providing the technical connectivity for Wundr to further build its network, ACI’s fraud prevention solution will safeguard transactions with patented incremental learning technology, helping Wundr — and its customers — to stay ahead of fraudsters.”
